Chantal Birney

Kinesiologist Chantal Birney

Chantal’s passion for movement began as a competitive gymnast, a sport she dedicated 13 years to before transitioning into coaching. Working with athletes sparked her interest in human anatomy, biomechanics, and performance, ultimately leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia.

During her studies, Chantal specialized in Clinical Exercise Physiology, developing an in-depth understanding of how exercise can be used to help prevent and manage chronic disease. She completed clinical shadowing at the YMCA, where she assisted with health promotion programs for older adults living with chronic conditions. This experience strengthened her appreciation for tailored exercise strategies that help individuals maintain independence and improve quality of life.

After graduating in 2024 and becoming a certified member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK), Chantal worked in a chiropractic clinic supporting patients through rehabilitation with therapeutic modalities such as shockwave therapy. She also became certified in PNF stretching, allowing her to support individuals of varying ages and conditions throughout their health journey.

Chantal values a collaborative, client-centered approach to care and believes education is essential for achieving lasting results. She is passionate about helping clients not only feel better, but also understand the purpose behind their treatment plans and exercises, empowering them to move with confidence and work toward their long-term health and wellness goals.

Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find Chantal at the gym, exploring off-road trails, or relaxing at the beach!
